Quote from kmm on 10/15/07 at 15:43:08:Wow, Europe -- you've got a smoking problem! Out of the top 10 countries that consume the most cigarettes per capita, only one country was not in Europe: Japan. The number one spot goes to none other than the Greeks who, according to a study by market research group ERC, smoked over 3,000 cigarettes per head in 2006. Here's how the top 10 fared:
Greece
Macedonia
Russia
Czech Republic
Slovenia
Spain
Japan
Ukraine
Bulgaria
Moldovia
I'm not surprised Greece tops the list. After all, they have love more frequently than any other country. For the full list of smoking nations, head to The Economist.
I think the next question should be "Why is smoking in these countries very rampant?" Don't they know about the harmful effects of smoking cigars? Are they not aware of some alternative and safer ways to reduce the smoking habits and its negative effects brought about by ordinary cigars or tobaccos?
