The Provincial Government rakes in about 700 million dollars a year in tobacco taxes....but Finance Minister Carole Taylor says that's no windfall. <p> "If you take into account the health care costs that come from the diseases that flow from smoking, there is no question that smoking is an enormous strain. The taxes that we raise from cigarettes would only pay a tiny part of the health care costs." <p> The Government is still planning to pursue legal action against big tobacco in hopes of recovering some of the health related costs of smoking.
