Unhandy pack of cigarettes as trick of anti-tobacco campaign

RISD ID graduate Erik Askin decided to follow steps of English Build studio and Britain Health Department. As opposed to conventional wisdom that designers make usual things better, Askin has created conceptual pack of cigarettes that is wittingly more unhandy than those that exist now. Author is sure that beautiful, handy, bright and branded pack makes smoking process stylish, what jeopardizes the most aggressive anti-tobacco campaigns. However, if making cigarette pack utterly unhandy, vicious habit becomes a tie as well.

Askin's pack is made in from of polyhedron and reminds of coffin a little. Cigarettes are placed inside not vertically but horizontally. It is very uncomfortable to keep such a pack in the pocket but to take cigarettes out of it is quite difficult.

It is understandable that no tobacco Company will take into production such packaging; however with a certain support from government, Askin's ideas have all chances to be fulfilled. Of course, cigarettes can be kept in cigarette case but will many smokers make it intentionally?
