Cigarettes do not help to lose weight. Part 1

As it is known, quite often smoking women are inclined to explain their unwillingness to quit smoking with danger to put on excess weight. But scientists of University College in London bindingly state: female persuasion that smoking helps to control weight is absolutely groundless myth. At least namely about this speak results of long six-years research, during which experts have looked after almost three thousands 11 years old children till they haven't reached 16 years age. Researchers were not able to see difference in the weight of smoking teenagers and persons of the same age who are indifferent to this habit.

It worth to say, that data that were received, appeared to be a big surprise for scientists. Professor from University College in London Robert West told: "During many years, I, unfortunately, was convinced that cigarettes help to control weight. But it is not true. Our previous results clearly demonstrate that young smokers don't control their weight better than those who don't smoke".

As researchers state, during their work they were not able to find any differences in weight, body weight index among smokers and non-smokers, calories or fat consumption. According to the results that were received some differences appear only when smoking people reach middle age having quite a long smoking experience.
