France to ban Electronic Cigarettes in public
France is to ban smoking of electronic cigarettes in public places. The health outcome from smoking of such type of cigarettes hasn't been studied completely, but the Ministry of Health claims the hazard from e-cigarettes is underrated. "Electronic cigarettes would probably become an effective instrument for smokers to quit smoking traditional cigarettes at all."
"This is no ordinary product because it could promote taking up smoking, that's why we need to apply the same measures for both types of cigarettes," France's Health Minister Marisol Touraine said at press conference.
A ban is going to harm the e-cigarette industry in France, where around 500,000 people prefer the gadget to tobacco smoking.
