Churchill and Holmes won't smoke anymore
Russian parliament suggested penalties for showing tobacco products and the process of smoking in new films and plays.
Theatre workers were quite surprised by the news. In order not to pay fines they are planning to change some scenes. And in cases when a cigarette is a part of the artistic conception they will use electronic cigarettes.
Though many feel indignation at the situation: how on earth one can "take away" pipe or cigar from such characters as Sherlock Holmes or Winston Churchill...
Penalties will not be applied only to films and plays. Radio and TV shows, concerts, panel games etc. will be also under strict control.
