Estonia Against Menthol Cigarettes
The Estonian social ministry supported the new European Commission's tobacco directive banning cigarettes with menthol flavor. According to this document all flavored cigarettes are to be removed from sale. The ministry's deputy secretary general for health affairs, said such types of cigarettes were very popular to women and young people.
Besides teenagers are attracted to catchy packages with stylish design. According to the last research more than a half of smokers choose menthol cigarettes.
The European Commission hopes this ban will help to reduce the total number of smokers all over the country.
