Crisis hasn't helped USA population to quit smoking
USA population refuses to quit smoking even in spite of economic crisis, informs New York Daily News.
Because of crises Americans spent less money on food, housing and medicine; however smokers' expenditures on cigarettes haven't reduced at all, notes the edition. So, as for October 2011, 21 % of Americans smoke, though cigarettes become more expensive.
Moreover, that tobacco smoking becomes more and more habit of poor people don't quit smoking more than third part of Americans who don't have money to buy food.
At the same time among those who are able to feed themselves, quantity of smokers has reduced to 13.8 %.
Among all States of America major part of smokers is in Kentucky: 29 % of population. At the same time in Utah the least smokers are - 11 %. In New York smokers make 19 % of population.
Population of the country makes 312.5 million of people.
On November 18th in many countries of the world was marked World No Tobacco Day. It was established by American Cancer Society in 1977.
