In Argentina comes into force total ban on smoking in public places and at work. Respective draft law was approved by President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner.
According to statistics in the country smoke 30 % of population. Argentina takes third place with respect to cigarettes consumption per capita among countries of the Western Hemisphere. New law, first of all is not meant to reduce number of smokers but to guard non-smoking population from dangers of passive smoking. So, from now on in Argentina is allowed to smoke only at home or outside.
It needs to be said that Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner has smoked in the past as well. According to her own confession she smoked per two packs of cigarettes a day. She has quitted smoking in 1988. She has also made unusual confession: in 1984 she lost child when she was on the sixth month of pregnancy. And, possibly, it happened because of smoking.
Future head of state has managed to get pregnant only the next year when she quitted smoking. At present moment Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner tries to make her children refuse cigarettes.
